Do you feel like life is SO crazy busy that you’re missing out on the important things (i.e. the things your heart truly desires)?

You’re so busy and constantly overcommitted that your schedule and responsibilities are REALLY getting in the way of your health, self-care and general well-being?

If you have a hard time balancing it all:

-Paying the bills

-Prioritizing what’s most important

-Saying yes too frequently to too many things and then…

-Letting the important things (workouts, healthy eating, sleep) go because you’re just SO busy

As I write this now, I feel emotional because you’re not alone! This has been my work too and it is an EPIDEMIC

Daily, I hear my clients share their own challenges with putting themselves on their list of priorities and how terrible it feels day after day.  It breaks my heart. Life really is too short.

As those closest to me know, last year was one of the most painful and tumultuous years of my life… 

I’m still processing from much of the grief and loss I experienced: tragic accidents that took the lives of dear friends and students, my own miscarriage, murder of a loved one, the loss of both of my grandparents… in fact, I lost at least one beloved each month from January through September.  It fucking sucked– and still does, but less so with each passing day.

Throughout each moment of last year, I was constantly called to presence. To surrender. To evaluation…

What really matters? How do I want to spend my time? Who do I want to be now

I learned repeatedly that life is so short and so, so precious.

Dear sister, the forward pressing of time and list of ‘to dos’ is incessant. And relentless.

At the end of our lives, what will have mattered most?

Our clean laundry and empty inbox?

Or the connections we’ve made? The moments we held the hands of people we loved and told them “Thank you for being in my life, you matter so much to me. I love you.”

It is imperative that we hit the pause button long enough each day to enjoy the sacred moments of the here and now that call for our engagement. 

There are people in our lives who desperately need quality time with us, just as we need to share these moments with them.

Slow your pace, sister.  Honor your life.

It is so beautiful, albeit messy sometimes, but it is yours.  Your art. Your masterpiece.

Take your time, babe.  All that matters is the here and now.
